Museum of Flying

Be it planes, trains or automobiles, men have a need for speed. Which is why we recommend a visit to Santa Monica’s Museum of Flying. Located at Santa Monica Airport, this museum hosts an impressive collection of historical aircraft and enormous replicas. There is an interactive portion of the museum with planes, cockpits and flight controls to explore. And since even big boys like toys, guys will be especially psyched to dive into the museum’s K-3 mini flight simulator. When they’re done messing around, they can hang out on the bleachers next to the runway where they can watch up close as planes take off and land. The museum is also often home to fun classic car shows.

Nightlife in Santa Monica

Guys tend to like a good ‘ol dive bar, and that’s exactly what West 4th and Jane. It’s casual and unassuming and one of those places where “everybody knows your name.” But West 4th and Jane isn’t just any old dive bar — with over 24 taps, it has the best selection of beer in the area. And don’t just stop at the domestic or imported flight of four, check out their food as well.

Bodega Wine Bar is a favorite for wine (and beer!) connoisseurs and a Santa Monica staple. It’s well known in the area for its knowledgeable staff and cozy atmosphere. Stop by on a Wednesday when all bottles are half priced.

Located just off Third Street Promenade, The Misfit Bar + Restaurant is known for its “high-end library” design and gastropub status. It’s a fun – and stylish – place to hang out and meet people. The two best things about the Misfit?  Its happy hour starts when the bar opens and they serve you house-made chocolate chip cookies when you close out.

Santa Monica’s Barcycle

Looking for a less traditional bar experience?  Guys will get a kick out of Santa Monica’s Barcycle. Yes, the Barcycle is pretty much what it sounds like: a bicycle that enables you to bar hop. This 15-passenger pedal-powered vehicle, where each seat is equipped like a bike, is the ultimate accessory for a pedal-propelled pub crawl! A group of friends can even rent a Barcycle out for a customized tour that highlights their favorite stops. Guys will enjoy getting a workout to burn off some of those beers in between stops. Some other perks: the cycle is eco-friendly, you don’t have to worry about a designated driver or paying for parking or a cab.
