Tucson

For me personally, the desert is where I call home. But for many others who don’t have the opportunity to live in such a beautiful destination, Arizona has become a popular place for romantic getaways, destination weddings and even anniversary/engagements celebrations. If the Sonoran desert is calling your name, be sure to bring your better half and share it with these tips for a romantic time in Tucson!

Breathtaking Views from Loews Ventana Canyon

Start your romantic getaway off early at Loews Ventana Canyon with a short hike through our Window Walk Nature Trail leading towards the Observation Deck. This natural platform located up the mountain the resort is situated around is an excellent spot to take your morning cup of coffee and watch the sun rise over Tucson.

If you’re anything like me and aren’t a morning person, don’t worry — we’ve still got another opportunity to snuggle up with your love as the sun sets. Located on the 4th floor just above the resort entry, the Observation Window is a small hidden gem of Loews Ventana Canyon Resort. Enclosed in the same brick the building is made of, and surrounded by vines that only bloom once a year, this is fantastic location to watch the incredible and famous desert sunsets as the sky turns from light to bright red and then fades to black as the city lights come alive below.

Horseback Riding in the Sonoran Desert

Horseback riding is a quintessential part of a true southwestern experience and can even count as what I call a “fun romantic” outing. Mosey around through the breathtaking Sonoran desert with your partner at your side and channel your inner cowboy or cowgirl and ride off into the sunset after a day exploring the great southwestern terrain!

Couples Massage

After a day in the sun on horseback, there’s nothing I’d love better (hint, hint, honey!) than a nice relaxing day at the spa. Luckily for our guests, Loews Ventana Canyon Resort offers the Lakeside Spa right on property. With a variety of different treatments available including facials, body treatments and massage it’s an ideal way to conclude a romantic weekend in the desert!

Trust me when I say even when you’ve lived in the desert most of your life, there’s nothing more romantic than watching the sun set and the colorful sky come to life after a relaxing spa treatment. But don’t just take my word for it, come and experience it for yourself!
