Thursday: Time to Catch Up!

You’re all checked in at Loews Hollywood and ready to meet up with the girls. I can’t think of a better place to catch up once everyone has arrived than at H2 Kitchen & Bar located in the lobby. Grab a couch, introduce yourselves to our amazing bartenders, and toast to the weekend ahead with your besties! But don’t stay up too late, we’ve got an early morning tomorrow.

INSIDE TIP: Check out our Craft Cocktail Menu and Wines on Tap! And don’t forget to chronicle your time together using #LoewsHollywood and #TravelForReal to see your images on our social media feed.

Friday: Off to Hogwarts!

If you’re anything like me and my girlfriends, a trip to Universal Studios Hollywood is high on the agenda to check out the newly opened Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Roll out of bed, throw on your cutest (insert chosen Hogwarts House here) shirt, meet the rest of the ladies downstairs at Bodega Grab & Go Market for some Starbucks coffee and a quick bite and off you go. How you get there is your choice depending on how large of a group you are. Either order an Uber to pick you up on the front drive or head down to the corner of Hollywood & Highland to catch the LA Metro Red Line, which only costs $8 each for a day pass, where you can take the complimentary Universal Studios shuttle to the park.

The Universal Studios Package with Loews Hollywood includes tickets to the park as well as early admission, and trust me you’ll want to get in line for Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey as soon as you can. Grab your park map, designate someone to keep track of it and head straight to Hogsmeade to take in as much of the magic as you can.

First things first, a round of frozen Butterbeer is a must and don’t forget the group shot in front of Hogwarts Castle located just past the second Butterbeer cart you’ll find. Head to line up for my favorite ride in the park, Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, and enjoy every tiny little detail you’ll come across as you tour through the castle to get to the ride. Lunch at Three Broomsticks and a visit to Ollivander’s for your wands are next on the list before heading out to enjoy the rest of the park the remainder of the day.

INSIDE TIP: If you’re planning on buying a wand, be sure to tell the witch or wizard at the register while you are purchasing it that you’d like them to hold the box for you. This is a lifesaver from having to carry around the box and bag it comes with everywhere else you go! Then when you’re ready to leave, stop by the main gift shop before the park entrance to pick it up.

Saturday: Out & About Hollywood!

After a long day at the theme park yesterday, you’re sure to want to spend the day resting so why not wake up early, meet for breakfast in Preston’s then head up to the rooftop pool for some rest and relaxation?

Spend some time together hanging at the pool and soaking up the California sunshine and of course sampling some of our poolside cocktails at Speck. There are some amazing views waiting for you up there and no pool day is complete without a game of life size chess.

Or if shopping is on your agenda (which it definitely should be!) then there’s no better or more convenient place than the Hollywood & Highland shopping center located adjacent to the hotel. Victoria’s Secret, Fossil, Louis Vuitton, and of course souvenirs galore can be found on the multi-level outdoor mall as well as restaurants like Johnny Rocket and California Pizza Kitchen.

INSIDE TIP: For a really memorable snack, visit Street Churros (located on the ground level to the left of the arch) or Waffle Jack (located on the third level on the Hollywood Blvd. side)!

Sunday: Brunch & Bye-Byes!

Finish off your getaway with breakfast/brunch with group at Preston’s. Their menu offers a variety of tasty choices whether you’re more into breakfast or lunch. The breakfast buffet is not to be missed and contains everything you may possibly desire and more. Oh and did we mention the incredible window views of Hollywood and the streets below while you dine?

INSIDE TIP: My personal favorite is none other than Chef Mark’s “Home Style French Toast” coated in Corn Flakes, filled with Nutella (yes – your heard me right!) and topped with fresh berries and whipped cream. Can you say breakfast heaven?

After a busy weekend in Hollywood you are sure to head back home with a camera filled of photos, a suitcase filled with souvenirs and a lifetime of memories together. Happy travels!
