New York City

In the city that never sleeps, there’s something majestic and dreamlike about seeing it sparkle through a cover of ice crystals or a fresh blanket of snow. Winter in New York City brings with it rare, quiet moments, countless opportunities to play and the invitation to capture its winter wonderland magic through photos. It’s a wonderful, romantic time to visit, and you shouldn’t head home without an iconic NYC winter photo op. Here are 3 of our team’s favorite places to go.

1. Central Park

It’s just a couple of blocks from Loews Regency New York so you don’t have to venture far to experience one of New York’s most majestic winter landscapes. And we promise, it’s worth the stroll even in the city’s coldest months! Be prepared with lots of memory on your camera or phone because you’ll want to snap a bunch of photos as you wander Central Park on a snowy day. Make a point of taking in these landmarks: Bow Bridge, The Mall and Belvedere Castle.

2. Washington Square Park

Known for its European-style arch, a nice reminder that you’re in a world-class city, this beautiful park houses several monuments and is a popular Greenwich Village gathering place.  A photo under the arch has a certain sense of grandeur. It’s a great spot to capture a winter memory.

3. Rockefeller Center Ice Skating Rink

Feel like a movie star as you find a perch at Rockefeller Center’s famous ice rink, sip on a cup of hot chocolate and smile for a photo with this beloved winter backdrop.  It’s a fun spot for the family, a date or an outing with friends, and the rink is open well beyond the holiday season.

Winter in New York is one of our favorite times to soak up the city’s beauty, not to mention to eat, drink and enjoy a Broadway show, the museums and post-holiday retail sales! Ask our Loews Regency Concierge team for more classic winter activity ideas and sightseeing options.
